Nikki Larose is one of our favorite makeup artists. She’s so sweet, so talented, and has the best makeup tricks and tips. We know because we teamed up with her in 2019 to shoot our Tan Lines summer collection. Nikki brought amazing creative energy and we had so much fun, we hired her again when we shot our Concealer Pens campaign later that year.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST BEAUTY MEMORY? 

Ah, I remember it well. I was around 10 years old- when my mom bought me ChapStick in Cherry and Dr. Pepper scents. I was obsessed with these two in particular because they gave my lips a slight tint of color. I remember wanting to wear lipstick SO BADLY at the time, so when these showed the slightest pink color, I kept applying layer after layer to see more pink!

WHO IS YOUR BEAUTY ICON? WHY?

So many come to mind, but I’d have to say Audrey Hepburn & Sophia Loren. Audrey was such a timeless beauty with strong brows and gorgeous eyes, her makeup always pristine. Not only was Sophia strong, sexy, and a total bombshell, but she was also known for the smokey liner technique that created her signature cat eye. To this day, I have to stop myself from giving all my clients a cat eye because of her!

IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERTED ISLAND, WHAT ONE BEAUTY PRODUCT WOULD YOU LOVE TO HAVE WITH YOU? 
 
That’s a tricky question because my first thought would be sunscreen! 😹 For makeup, it would 1,000% be Brow Pencil. I won’t leave my house without my brows filled in.

WHAT IS YOUR BEAUTY AND STYLE PHILOSOPHY? 
 
Makeup should be worn to boost your confidence and make you FEEL good. It’s there to enhance and bring out what you were given, not change who you are. Growing up, I was insecure, and makeup helped me feel confident on the days I needed it most. Beauty is absolutely on the inside, but sometimes we need to enhance that outer shell to complete the look.

WHO ARE THE TOP THREE PEOPLE ON YOUR WISH LIST TO MAKE RED-CARPET READY? 
 
This is such a great question! First would be J.Lo. Duh, right? She’s ageless, timeless and so versatile. I don’t think there’s a makeup style she couldn’t rock. Naomi Campbell is the kind of stunning that takes your breath away. And finally, Gwen Stefani is a style icon and total trailblazer. I’m also a massive fan of No Doubt!

WHAT JOUER PRODUCTS ARE IN YOUR KIT? ANY TIPS ON HOW YOU USE THEM?  

In my personal collection:  
On myself, I use the Blush & Bloom Cheek + Lip Duo when I need something quick. And, I go through Long-Wear Crème Lip Liner in Fawn and Nude like crazy because the shades are an awesome neutral hue and the creamy formula glides right on.  

In my kit:
The Blush Bouquet duos are literally the only powder blushes I grab. I also keep every nude, pink, or neutral Jouer Long-Wear Crème Lip Liner on hand.
 
And the #1 Jouer product that is ALWAYS in my kit is (drumroll...) the Lip Enhancer moisturizer. It’s such an awesome multitasker. I use it as a prep to hydrate my clients’ lips, as a gloss over lipstick, and on the eyelids when I want to give a client a glossy, wet eye look.
